Hi there!
I’m Sarah, a Sydney based graphic designer specialising in event graphic design. My credentials include a Bachelor of Communication Design and freelance work in graphic design specifically for events. I want to help your graphic design dreams become a reality! I have an eye for detail with a confident ‘can do’ attitude. I am a problem solver and a big thinker, nothing will be left behind, all will be fulfilled.
I’ve spent the last 3 years in the retail sector as a store manager and caught the talent of being able to meet deadlines, perfect tasks, communicate with confidence and purpose and learn what customers need. I’m patient and willing, with a strong work ethic and a desire to provide for others.
My aim is to create designs that have impact. I want my designs to have meaning and purpose, to hold value and display a high level of satisfaction for a client.
My designs deserve to tell a story. Clients deserve to have their story told. I want to work hand in hand with clients to create this perfect story. Through the power of design, I want to contribute to creating and adding tone to events and everyday milestones and showcase my strongest attributes within both the design space and work environment.
COTTON ON CAMPAIGN
Task: To create an integrated campaign for a brand that provides commentary on a current social issue. Visualise the message through a series of directions.
WHAT DID I DO?
Created a campaign for the Cotton On brand called #NormaliseTheNumber that is intended to bring attention to body diversity and normalising different body types. I created a social media campaign as well as advertising campaigns to promote the overall campaign.
The point of this campaign isn’t just starting a conversation on social media using #NormaliseTheNumber, the campaign has a deeper meaning. The Cotton On brand would be taking steps to show action of them choosing to normalise all number sizes.
Utilising advertising platforms (including print media, website design and social media) allowed the campaign to be shown across many mediums, grabbing the attention of a large audience who would be able to appreciate the campaign.
FIGHT FOR FLIGHT
Task: Develop a branded experience. Create the brand, advertising points and a multi-sensory branded experience
WHAT DID I DO?
Created a brand called “Fight for Flight”. This brand was intended to advocate for a person's right to assisted dying.
The purpose was to take a controversial topic and form understanding for the audience through a multi-sesory experience. In this I created the logo for the brand, advertisements, and the branded experience (including example merch booth, a flight simulator experience, and touch boards for information about the topic.
For this project, I was able to build a branded experience. It allowed me to create brand from scratch, give this brand a purpose and then promote the brand and design aspects of the brand. This project saw me create a logo and choose a colour pallette that would be found across the entirety of the brand and in each design. I was able to tap into different design aspects to showcase the brand whilst also building an experience for the brand.
Major Project - Own Brand
Task: Create a self guided project.
WHAT DID I DO?
Created a brand for the purpose of it being my own. I created a business that focuses on event graphic design. For this particular project, I focused on creating wedding stationary. I designed the logo and colour scheme for the brand, created business cards and a social media page, as well as products to be created by the brand.
I wanted to use this project to showcase building the identity of a brand and also to showcase designing products for a brand. I was able to capture different elements of design to build this major project and show flexibility in my work by incorporating so many different grahpic design elements in one project.
